TL;DR – We keep things simple: fair, transparent pricing based on real production costs, clean rounded numbers, and no gimmicks. Prices vary by region because fulfilment costs vary too. Discounts are rare but real — usually around 10% and only for a short time or for specific groups. Shipping stays separate, and sizes stay the same price wherever possible. That’s it. Clean code, clean pricing.


 

At Slash Star, we keep pricing as clean and transparent as our code. Every product is made on demand, not pulled from a warehouse shelf, which means our prices reflect real production costs, fair margins, and the quality we expect from the things we use ourselves.

Why prices vary between regions

Our products are fulfilled by trusted print partners around the world. Each region has its own production and material costs, and we price locally to keep things fair. That’s why a T-shirt may cost slightly differently in the UK compared to New Zealand — you’re seeing the true cost for your location, not a converted number with a random markup.

A simple rule: fair price in, fair profit out

We choose “developer-sensible” price points — clean, rounded numbers that feel deliberate, not inflated. Our aim is to cover production, fulfilment, platform fees, and keep enough margin to reinvest in new designs and better products. No surprise surcharges. No psychological pricing tricks. Just straightforward numbers.

On-demand production, zero shortcuts

Every item is printed when you order it. That keeps waste low and your items fresh, but it also means the cost to produce a single T-shirt is higher than mass-produced items. We absorb some of that; the rest appears in the price you see.

Different sizes, same price

Where possible, all sizes share the same retail price. Larger sizes often cost more for us to produce, but we don’t pass that on directly — because simple, inclusive pricing is better for everyone.

Discounts: rare, real, and intentional

We don’t do constant sales or inflate prices just so we can slash them later. It’s not our style.

But from time to time, you may see:

  • Limited 10% promotions

  • Thank-you discounts for returning customers

  • Special pricing for certain groups or communities

  • Short-term offers tied to new releases

When we offer a discount, it’s deliberate, meaningful, and time-bound — not noise, not pressure. The underlying prices remain fair either way.

Shipping is separate

Shipping is calculated based on your location and the fulfilment centre that makes your order. We keep our product prices clean and let the true carrier cost handle the rest. Transparency > bundling inflated shipping into the product price.

If supplier costs change, we adjust our prices to stay sustainable — but we always review increases carefully. Our promise is to keep pricing honest and defend the value of every item we produce.
