SELECT * Developer T-Shirt

`SELECT *` returns every column in a table. Quick for inspecting what's there, and a known liability in production.

It pulls columns you don't need, breaks when the schema shifts, and hides intent from the next person reading the query. Fine at the console, worth replacing with an explicit column list anywhere that ships.

Shipping and returns

Shipping costs vary by region, so it's worth giving the delivery total at checkout a quick look before confirming your order. Some variants may show limited availability in certain locations—if fulfilment isn't available in your region, our suppliers will try to ship globally from the nearest facility that can produce that specific item. When this happens, delivery costs may be higher than expected due to the increased distance.

We're constantly reviewing suppliers and expanding fulfilment options, and new routes may open over time.

SQL SELECT *: When to Use It (and When to Avoid It)

SQL SELECT *: When to Use It (and When to Avoid It)

SELECT * retrieves all columns from a table. It's convenient for exploration and development but problematic in production code. Understanding when it's acceptable versus when it causes issues improves query performance and maintainability.
